Welcome to all Marching Chips Alumni!
2007 was an exciting year and what a fantastic time we had with so many of you throughout the year.
Scott Harding's appearance as Guest Conductor at Band Day was a BIG hit!

And of course, the Maynard Ferguson tribute at Homecoming is still echoing around the stadium, thanks to some incredible work by our Alumni Band!

We hope you can join us for Homecoming on October 11. It's a unique opportunity for generations of the Marching Chips family to come together, share memories, and see what's new in Mt. Pleasant and at CMU. We're proud to carry on the traditions of excellence and innovation that you helped to fashion as students, and in recognition of the Alumni Band's contribution to the day's festivities, CMU Director of Athletics Dave Heeke will again provide admission to the game for each alumnus who performs with us at halftime (any family or friends accompanying you to the game may purchase tickets at a discount). A mid-afternoon kick-off will take some of the usual strain off our schedule! Our annual Coffee Hour will take place in the Press Box Club Lounge at Kelly/Shorts Stadium beginning at 8:30 A.M. A rehearsal follows with the Marching Chips, and the annual homecoming parade will leave the corner of Preston and Washington Streets at 11:00 A.M. All band alumni are welcome to join us in the parade. Wear your Maroon and Gold! At 1:00 P.M., we'll get together with family and friends between the ponds for a BYO tailgate picnic lunch. Many of you attended this event at last year's Army game. It was such a big success that we're pleased to be able to fit it into the Homecoming schedule. Detailed information will follow.
Come home to CMU and see how well the old sounds and sights blend with the new. Be certain to stop by and visit the School of Music and Jack Saunders Field. If you arrive early on Friday, you know what time you can find us there! Homecoming is also a good time for you to consider joining the Marching Band chapter of the CMU Alumni Association. Dues are voluntary and your membership will help us to let you know what's new and exciting for your Chippewa Marching Band.
Please fill out the form below at your earliest convenience. You may want to make your room reservations early, as Mount Pleasant area hotels fill up quickly due to the various casino packages that are offered on the weekends. Also, anticipation is running high, since Coach Jones and the Chippewa Football team are looking forward to another Championship season! Game tickets for family and friends are available in advance by calling 1-888-FIREUP2 and can also be purchased on game day.
The School of Music faculty is looking forward to seeing all of CMU's music alumni at Homecoming 2008. Please plan to attend and enjoy the traditions that you helped build during your years at CMU.
With best wishes from campus,
Dr. James Batcheller, Director
