Timothy Caldwell
Professor of Voice, Tenor
J. Timothy Caldwell, professor of voice, has enjoyed an extensive career as conductor, recitalist, and soloist in oratorios, operettas, musicals, and opera. He is professor of voice, and founding Director of Music Theatre. Outside of CMU, he is an internationally recognized authority on applying the concepts of Dalcroze Eurhythmics to improving performance, and is a sought-after clinician, working with teachers of all instruments as well as orchestras, chamber musicians, soloists in schools and music festivals throughout the United States, and in Canada and Brazil. He has written articles for The American Music Teacher, Journal of Music Education, Connections-Journal of Music-and-Movement Based Early Childhood Education, and the California Music Educators Magazine. His book, Expressive Singing: Dalcroze Eurhythmics for Voice is the primary resource for applying the principles of Eurhythmics to vocal performance.
